“You hurt me more than that bullet. Not by lying about who you were but by not coming to see me. You’re supposed to be an expert at working out the most efficient path to get to where you want to be. Since for the last three weeks that path didn’t lead to me, you left me thinking you didn’t want me at all.” He glared. “But I got over my sulk and started to wonder if I was wrong.
