“It’s pretty easy to smile at a kid who does exactly what he’s asked to do, when he’s asked to do it, who makes you feel like you’re succeeding every day.” The boys in the front row squirmed in their seats. “If you ask me, teachers are supposed to smile at all the kids, but especially at the kids who are sometimes harder to smile at.”
