“God’s love does not rescue us from life’s pain. It strengthens us, like the light of day strengthens every plant along the valley floor, to endure. As we endure, we mature. Our character grows. And somewhere in the hushed cold of the twilight we blossom. We open full bloom with the rising sun. The pain of growth produced its fruit.
